Elections -2014 The Untold Story

In the last 12 hours, the top words that are recorded in my database are MODI, NaMo, 4th internals, Lab internals and Farewell . Nothing is new about either the 4th internals or the lab internals :P . Semesters change but procrastination and the subsequent dejection remains unchanged :P Aaand the farewell... that's another story for another day . Let's now talk about the man or rather the brand of the moment MR NARENDRA MODI, soon to be sworn in as the Prime Minister ( Let's hope it changes to Pradhan Sevak) of this magnanimous country of contrasts,extremes, morons as well as oxymorons - INDIA.

Well all of you already know what has happened and what has not. Nonetheless, let us have a quick recap. 

The BJP is the first political party other than the congress to have gotten enough seats to form a single party government. Narendra Modi wins with a whopping majority of more than five lakhs which is 35000 times more than the no of votes Rakhi Sawant got. Current and ex ministers like Ram Vilas Paswan, Sushil kumar Shinde , Omar Abdulla succeed in getting a 5 year vacation from loksabha. And Kapil Sibal ki bolthi finally bandh :P Meanwhile, locally our Kumaranna , neckless Dharam Singh, Shivanna's wife, Ramya Aunty among others remained unsold in the loksabha auctions :P Our beloved Devegowdru wins. Gowdre, Modi is now the PM, when are you planning to leave? Tickets book madbeka?? All this while congress led UPA fails to even be in the opposition (Third front ppl) 

Now, I expected a Modi wave , but not of this magnitude. A congress white wash in 5 states was not expected. The entire nation was covered with the so called TsuNaMo. Let's talk about Modi later. Lets talk about two people who have defied the laws of politics in their respective states. "Amma " Jayalalitha led ADMK wins 38 out of 39 seats in TN amidst a Modi wave while "didi" Mamata Banerjee makes the Left parties a minority in their own so called "fortress". This Mr Gandhi is "Women Empowerment".

Talking about Modi. Yes, i do agree that Gujrat has seen a lot of development in the near past. And I do accept that he might be the best statesman we have right now. But, that doesn't make Modi the Kalki people are waiting for. He is not the savior who will lead us to redemption. But, what made us think like that? Who implanted this idea in our heads?

Of many things Mr Modi is, he is an oppurtunist, a strategist and a smart planner. He plans for the future, not just the immediate future. Smart use of media and smart publicity. Brilliant online campaigning unlike Mr Nilekani who spammed my entire internet workspace. He assessed every aspect and took into consideration the voters from ages 18 to 80. Unlike Rahul Gandhi and his congress minions, there was no downright moronic publicity ! Bharath Nirmaan :D makes me laugh even now.

For the first time, BJP's campaign was centered around just an individual. The manifesto was called the Modifesto and so on. Dance of democracy centered around an individual ! Yet a historic win ! It all comes down to planning and timing. Planning it right and striking the cords at the right time. Everything started years back.  There was some or the other story in the news about Modi ,the rumors of a Modi-Advani spat - the guru shishya jagala ! ... And you my friend think that all this was co-incidental ? No... It was part of a plan ! An elaborately drawn out plan. A well defined timeline. While Modi was the pretty poster boy, a particular Mr Amit Shah( or Shaw, i dunno) did the work behind the screen. Everything was planned before hand. Modi contesting in anti BJP state of UP! Getting support in states like Bihar ! The setting up of the Vallabhai Patel statue! The creation on NGO's- the centre for accountable governing. They had activities that could draw the interest of every kind of person.Branding! A Modi brand was created and a chain reaction followed. The end result - a perfect plan and a perfect execution. Job well done.

While one major party used CPM and PERT charts and did a lot of data mining and statistical analysis, we had another party that still believed in gadbad ghotala :P We live in the age of smartphones and speed internet Mr Gandhi! Your one packet biriyani and one 90 wont work anymore. And the voters don't live in the 60s or rather the stone age to believe every bullshit you tell us ! No ullu banowing mister. You were the Justin Beiber+One Direction of India in terms of the jokes. And yet you were the Prime Minister candidate :D :D I guess education does matter. ( By education, i don't mean the academic degree ) Hell, congress didnt even come to the opposition in Telangana :P

And finally , the new kid in the block, the hot headed AAP ! It is no less than a revolution. Kejriwal took the challenge head on. While Mr Modi played around with the rules, he challenged the rules. Rahul Gandhi was a sitting duck for sarcasm, but no he chose to challenge the Man himself. He got slapped, beaten up and made fun of! But that didn't stop him. And for all those who say he is the extension of congress and all he does is drama and wants to make money, I have an answer for all of this. Firstly, its the congress that begot its own adversary. The AAP was primarily born because of the injustice of congress. And secondly, if its the drama part you speak of, what exactly was it the the great Mahatma did 7 decades back? And coming to the making money part, he is an alumnus of a goddamn IIT and alse cleared in Civils and worked in the revenue department! You think he couldn't make enough cash from there? And while there are people like our own Yeddy who would literally do anything to save his position, we have a person who has become the chief minister of Delhi, and quits because he didn't like jokepal being passed ! Talk about ethics here... He didn't go with the flow or try to deviate it, he rather chose to stop it. A person like Modi, contests in 2 constituencies for back up purposes while the newcomer challenges Modi in Varanasi and mind you , Kejriwal didn't contest elsewhere ! Talk about guts here. He could have contested in Amethi or any other congress fortress and beat them hands- down ! AAP had the cleanest campaing system . He could have done a lot more to do better. I don't blame him. He's an idealist not a stategist.

I personally have a great deal of respect both towards NaMo and Kejriwal. I'm extremely happy with the results. But lets hope Modi is not another episode of Akhilesh Yadav . Nonetheless, i guess we had hit rock bottom in the last 10 years. And I'm sure that there is no way but up :)

And P.S: True Democracy was seen in my family where each person of the family coincidentally chose different people. And for all of you wondering who I voted for, it was not the AAP nor the BJP, but an independent  candidate of the name Dr Kodur Venkatesh. Hope he atleast got his deposit back .
